In New York, adult care facilities, assisted-living residences and home-care services caring for vulnerable adults and seniors depend on aides who can act in a medical emergency. To keep residents safe, these settings expect their care staff to hold CPR and first-aid training.

Adult care facilities, assisted-living residences and home-care agencies; the Advanced Home Health Aide (AHHA) track requires a current CPR/BLS certification.
急救要求
Advanced Home Health Aides (AHHA) must hold a current CPR/BLS certification before starting coursework, and for basic home health aides and personal-care aides serving vulnerable adults, CPR is preferred and commonly required by the employer even though it is not state-mandated for those base roles.
A recognized, up-to-date first-aid and CPR certificate is the way to meet this expectation; it is in addition to the worker's occupational training and must be renewed periodically.
